Day 2 of Write a book in 45 Days Challenge

I am of the opinion that outlines are evil. They are vile things meant to suck the joy from your bones and dance upon your grave. Do not try to convince me otherwise.

You see, I am a panster. I like to create ideas and just roll with it. Who knows what will happen in 20 chapters from now, surely not me. But lately, I have been writing outlines and character bios and character arcs.

Why? Obviously, to torture myself. Tis the life of a literary masochist.

So what did I do today?

I wrote over 3,000 words in an outline. Chapter after chapter, creating just the right combination of rise and fall to keep me and the reader interested. Because let’s be honest, if I am not interested in a book that I am writing, I won’t write it.

I made sure to include a few challenges for my characters and how they overcome them. Though, I did not put into detail all of the answers because I want to challenge myself during the writing process as well.

Part of the outline is to not have my characters rebel in the middle of the creation process. For this book I will only allow one accidental death and no more.

See you tomorrow, friend!
