While outlining might be evil and created by overlords who want us to suffer, I can say that it is not needed.
My chapter guide is very different from my outline, which made me laugh, because of course I would have different ideas as the story evolved. I do not think this is a bad thing though, I think it shows how not all outlines line up to our original goals and that is okay.
Your outline does not have to be perfect because this is your first draft. And first drafts are allowed to be a place where you can put your ideas down to refine them later.
So what did I do today?
I finished my outline today, and I am so happy! Oh my gosh! Outlining is not for the weak, but I was born strong.
Today, I wrote a few words and calculated how many words I need to write each day to meet my goal.
Part of me was ashamed of how little I wrote today, but I want to be honest and open about the creation process.
