How long should a chapter be? And what are the actions needed to make sure it will keep your reader interested?
I saw someone say that an average chapter for a fantasy book should be anywhere from 1,800 words to 3,000 words. I would like to say that I am above average where the people like it.
My chapter may or may not be over 6,000 words, but I promise you it is for a good reason.
I am a firm believer in long chapters. I once read a 341-page book with just five chapters in it. Such power, such unhinged passion was what I needed in a book and the author delivered.
The tradition must have a foundation of unhinge practices in the writing community, I plan to become a disciple in unhinged practices.
Yay.
So what did I do today?
I did a lot of writing, but not for this project.
I filed my taxes, which took me three hours. No, I am not okay, why is it always so hard?
But I did write a few words today, nowhere near my goal or a little over 2,000 words a day, but slow progress is still progress.
Keep it going, friends.
