Day 21 of Write a Book in 45 Days Challenge

I want to tell you something about things I wish I had known when creating this book.

Sure, the list will be bigger and more comprehensive at the end of the project.

Create a character list and have at least a small description of what the person looks like, their age, past trauma, goals, arcs, and how they feel about one or two small things that mean a lot to them.

By doing this, when it is time to introduce a new character or even a filler character, you have someone that can play the part.

After making this list, be sure to have where and when the character shows up. This will help with managing your book and expectations for the characters.

In your first draft, it’s okay if your characters do not show up in the same exact order that you created them to, but keep a running list or document of when they show up as you write.

When you are done writing, you can review your book and check out what scenes need adjusting based on the character patterns. Trust me, it will help in the long run.

So what did I do today?

I started a new chapter and noticed my characters were tempted to rebel again.

So, I bribed them with some queer adventures. They seem to like that.

Please save me, they want to make this a series.

I am only one person in a sea of books wanting to be written.
