How do you keep your characters interested in acting their part in the story?

For a long time, I struggled with this concept, and sometimes I still do.

But one of the things I noticed about writing is that our characters want to be a part of the action and where the conversation is. They crave to show up and tell their side of the story with their own words.

You may notice that a character from the east or west has a certain accent, and you have to figure out how different words sounds. It is even more fun when you have to create curse words from their culture and language.

By diving in deep into who your characters are, what motivates them, and how do they grow in different circumstances. These concepts are important areas to focus on when you are trying to get your characters to act their part in the story.

So what did I do today?

Today felt like a low content day. It wasn’t much writing, but there are new characters and much more to be done.

I do think I will reach my goal of writing 50,000 words in 45 days.

Word count: 27,618 words

See you tomorrow, friends.
