I wanted to take some time and update you on what I am working on.
Rather than working on several projects at the same time. I have broken my year down in writing in the summer and fall, editing in the winter, and publishing in the spring.
The process has begun to really change for me and I want to also think about my capability.

Are you a fast writer, Jona?
Normally, I would say no, but occasionally I get a short story idea and write it on the same day. Currently, the short story is due Friday and I haven’t started yet.
I wanted to take some time and figure out the plot, but that’s a lie. I am anxious as hell to write it. And not in a positive way.
The idea I want to try is pulling on the grief I have known and work it into a piece that takes into accountability the cost of forest fires.
But it also means looking at grief (something I dislike) and creating characters that I feel connected to just to watch them die. I know that a lot of authors kill their darlings, but I am really terrible at it.
So I am going to do my best to finish the story today, I am aiming for 2,000 words over the next few days to make the deadline.
What about the secret project connected to your Ko-fi?

Awesome question, I am still planning on writing it. But I realized I needed to be on socials and talk about writing and poetry and healing.
I have been avoiding doing all of that, since I have to get back to that, I decided to give myself a few months to find out who I was beyond the platform I built for myself.
Taking an idea and making it into something that connects to others makes me feel like I can reach people in their dark places.
You didn’t talk about the witch project?
Good point, I plan to not talk about it much. I want to keep working on it until I finish the first draft. After that I want to take some time to find where I want to go with that project.
Are you up to something, Jona?
Always, as a chaos gremlin, I have plans upon plans. But I want to take time to execute my plans rather than making new modifications to them. This is also why, I haven’t talked about The Fates series.
Still here?!?
